PHOTO: How Lukaku And Sanchez Almost Stopped Matic From Scoring The Winner Against Palace
Nemanja Matic led Manchester United to complete a sensational comeback on Monday night, as his outrageous stoppage-time goal helped the Red Devils clinch a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Having begun the game poorly, Jose Mourinho’s men looked set to face a shock defeat after going 2-0 down, but goals from Chris Smalling, Romelu Lukaku, and lastly, the Serbian international, helped the away team bag 3 crucial points.
With lethal attacking players like Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Lukaku present on the pitch, it came as a shock to everyone when the winner was scored by a central midfielder who rarely happens to find the back of the net.
In fact, in the 91st minute, when the ball did fall to Matic, even his fellow teammates expected him to pass it to a forward more capable of scoring a goal.

The likes of Smalling and Lukaku were clearly seen asking the 29-year-old to pass the ball to an idle teammate on the sides, whereas Sanchez was spotted gesturing the former Chelsea man to keep his calm before he picked a pass.
However, Matic evidently had other ideas, and he managed to surprise one and all by striking that thunderous volley with his sweet left foot.

If Matic continues to defy his fellow teammates’ wishes to produce magical moments such as these, it is safe to assume that boss Jose Mourinho won’t mind it too much.
