You just cannot take Cristiano Ronaldo out of the big European night blockbuster games!

The Real Madrid talisman was once again up to the task in the Champions League, and he has assured the side of what seems to be a guaranteed spot in the semi-finals.

Ronaldo scored a sublime brace against Juventus as Real sealed a 3-0 first-leg away win in Turin. Once again, his love for the big European ties came to the fore, especially after the heroics he showed against Paris Saint-Germain in the Round of 16.

The player has been winning hearts in the knockout stages, as last season too, he ripped apart Bayern Munich before scoring twice in the final in Cardiff against Juve.

Memories of that final had the home supporters booing Ronaldo for a majority of the hour-mark, as he also scored the first goal of the night after seizing the opportunity by being at the right place at the right time.

It was until the 64th minute of the game when Ronaldo showed his magic. A miscommunication between Giorgio Chiellini and Gianluigi Buffon saw Ronaldo capitalise, and setting the ball for Lucas Vasquez to shoot.

But Buffon parried the ball away with a save, and it landed towards Dani Carvajal, and the Spaniard crossed it too high for Ronaldo’s reach. However, CR7 jumped high and scored from a spectacular bicycle kick, which left everybody in utter disbelief.

The home fans present at the Old Lady, who had been booing the Real Madrid talisman all night, rose to give a standing ovation to what seems to be Ronaldo’s best ever goal in the Champions league.

Juventus fans need to be credited for appreciating Ronaldo’s effort in the high-octane clash, and fans on social media site Twitter did praise the character of the Juve supporters for their reaction towards their opponent’s goal.
