Liverpool blew Manchester City apart in a frantic first half at Anfield in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final’s first-leg encounter.

Mohamed Salah was once again instrumental for the Reds, as he scored one and set up another in an enthralling night at Merseyside.

The Egyptian king has been in stellar form this season, and scored his 38th goal in just 42 games. He opened the scoring after a clinical finish from an open position in the 12th minute itself.

The Reds produced a splendid display under manager Jurgen Klopp, and Salah was once again the chief architect of the side’s dominance.

But it was an incident at half-time that got the fans going crazy over Salah. The former AS Roma player went up to City’s defender Aymeric Laporte and clapped his hand, saying something in return.

Many fans took to social media site Twitter, saying that Salah went to him to apologise for the wreckage his team had presented over their opponents on the night.

A similar instance happened against Watford in the league this season as well, wherein Salah went up to Watford goalkeeper and apologised for scoring four goals past him. The nicest guy in football?

The in-fom versatile forward could be a doubt for Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton after being substituted in the second half. He has undoubtedly done a major job so far though.
