Marouane Fellaini had previously indicated his fondness to look for greener pastures and take on new challenges somewhere away from Old Trafford.

The midfielder’s current contract is set to expire by the end of this season, with the Belgian reluctant to stay at Manchester United despite Jose Mourinho’s interest in the player.

The tactician had conveyed how important he was to the club on multiple occasions, however, the 30-year-old believes he doesn’t get enough game time at the Mancunian outfit.

Amid speculation surrounding the Belgian’s future, L’Equipe have claimed that Liverpool are keen on securing the talented midfielder when his current deal expires.

If Fellaini remains unwilling to renew his contract, he would be available for free in June. The French newspaper accordingly states that the Reds are planning a rough three-year contract for the Belgium international.

The former Everton midfielder’s switch to Liverpool would be a ridiculous transfer for the fans, given that they have criticised him during his years with the Toffees as well as the Red Devils.

If Klopp does sign the star nonetheless, it must clearly imply that he has plans for the Belgian for the season to come.

Furthermore, Liverpool don’t seem to be the only team interested in the United No.27, as there is also reported interest from Besiktas, AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain.
