Arsenal Target Jonny Evans Wants A Move To Man City

With just a couple of months left until the summer transfer window, multiple clubs across Europe have started lining up to sign a fresh batch of players in order to revamp their current squads.
Arsenal and Man City aren’t far behind, with one star already eyeing a switch to one of the English giants.
West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans is reportedly set to leave the bottom-placed club at the end of the campaign, with City being his preferred destination.
According to the report by Daily Mirror, Evans is keen to make a move to the Etihad after having already come close once in the winter transfer window, when the Cityzens were just £2 million off meeting Albion’s valuation of the defender.

However, the tables have now turned, as the 30-year-old could leave the Hawthorns for just £3m due to a relegation release clause in his contract.
West Brom currently sit bottom of the league table with just three wins in their 33 matches, and 10 points adrift of the 17th placed Crystal Palace. Therefore, they appear extremely likely to drop to the Championship.

Furthermore, in their upcoming away clash against United, who sold Evans to WBA in 2015 for £8 million, if the Baggies fail to secure three points, their relegation would be all but sealed with four games to spare.
The report added that the former United man is ‘reluctant’ to switch to Arsenal, who have had the West Brom captain on their shopping list for some time now. It was reported that Evans ‘is understood to firmly favour moving to the Etihad above the Emirates’.
The Northern Ireland international had also rejected a £100,000-a-week extension last year, with his current contract set to expire next year.
