Backtrack to almost a year and reports were strife as to how much young talent was truly worth.
The blockbuster deals of Mbappe and Dembele broke numerous records and gave clubs that were nurturing youngsters much hope about potential big deals in the future.
However, the risk with purchasing teenagers and developing talents is that they don’t always live up to their expectation, or else wish to play first-team football straightaway – usually by virtue of coming for a big amount, which is not always an ideal choice in a star-laden squad.
A person who definitely fits this description at the moment is Ousmane Dembélé.
His future at Barcelona has come under some doubt, as Ernesto Valverde seems stubborn to not rotate his squad and give the French starlet the starts he arguably deserves.

As of such, despite having moved to Barcelona only the previous summer for a staggering £120 million, top European clubs are hoping to pry him away already. Names like Chelsea, Liverpool, PSG, and Bayern Munich are reportedly showing much interest.
However, as per Don Balon, most of these names have been snubbed, and the 20-year-old is open to only Man Utd as a potential future destination.
He is believed to be a big admirer of the Red Devils, and this could work out in his favour, as the Premier League is an ideal place for any top-brass footballer wishing to make a mark.

With Anthony Martial seeming likely to depart in the summer, the former Borussia Dortmund forward could be another arrival to give thought to. The obvious catch will most certainly be the fact that he won’t come for cheap, as Barca will not be eager to incur a loss this early in the investment.
Further, regardless of whether or not the interest in genuine, it seems very improbable that the arrival of another youngster is the solution to United’s talent-riddled roster that already poses several headaches with regards to the starting line in attack.
