Fans Can’t Believe Louis Van Gaal’s Latest Announcement
Blasts from the past have a tendency to be shocking in nature. However, it is rare that the source of such a return to come from a manager instead of a player. It is understandable though – imagine SAF announcing a return to management.
However, this time around, it is a slightly more underwhelming one, and the manager in question is Louis Van Gaal. Not to put down the illustrious manager, who has had remarkable stints at Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Ajax, and the Dutch national side.
His stint at Man Utd, however, was underwhelming to say the least, and the FA Cup drought he broke wasn’t enough to give him an extension, paving the way for Jose Mourinho to take over the reigns at Old Trafford. However, he may still return to action.
Speaking to Dutch TV channel Ziggo, Van Gaal stated: “I have now received an offer that I actually cannot refuse. More than this I do not say, if I am not at work in July or August, I will definitely retire.”
Coming on the heels of Arsene Wenger’s announcement to step down as the Arsenal manager at the end of the season, one can certainly be forgiven for being imaginative and putting two and two together, a picture of Van Gaal helming the Gunners comes nicely to mind.
Twitter certainly made the connection and went into splits. In a rare moment of unison, both Man Utd and Arsenal fans contemplated similar scenarios of what an LVG reign in London could bring.

His antics as manager of the Mancunian giants were one that brought many a chuckle as well as few frustrating moments in view of the brand of football that his ‘philosophy’ was weaving at the club.
Though wishful thinking, it is still technically possible for Arsenal to be the offer for the 66-year-old manager.
