OFFICIAL: Manchester United Player Leaves Club

At a club like Manchester United, it isn’t easy to keep hold of talented starlets due to an already star-studded squad.
While Jose Mourinho will be eager to overhaul his squad and get rid of surplus talent in order to make way and create funds for marquee signings, the exit of youngster may not always be the best decisions in hindsight.
Mourinho has had a much better reputation with regard to the United academy graduates than was expected. Regardless, the club now has the exit of one youngster confirmed.
Joe Riley has left Manchester United and joined Bradford City on a two-year deal. The 21-year-old defender had captained United’s U-23 squad last season and was an integral part of that youth squad.

A statement on the player’s Twitter read: “Manchester United has been my home, my family for the last 15 years. It is every boy’s dream to play for this club and I can proudly say I have achieved this.”

He went on to add: “I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone – from all the coaches that have helped me along the way, the staff, the many players I’ve played alongside while growing up but, most importantly, the fans that have showed constant support throughout my whole time here.

Riley made two senior appearances for United, both under Louis van Gaal, and against Shrewsbury Town and Midtjylland. Having been loaned off to Sheffield United in 2017, the youngster was unfortunate enough to have suffered a shoulder injury.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the talented player.
