Fred’s summer move to Manchester United has gathered pace in recent weeks, especially after Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed that the Red Devils are currently locked in advanced negotiations with the player’s current club, Shakhtar Donetsk.
Jose Mourinho has been on the lookout for new midfield reinforcements, especially following Michael Carrick’s retirement as a player, coupled with what looks like an imminent departure for Marouane Fellaini.
The Mancunian giants have since been heavily linked with a variety of central midfielders, such as Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Napoli star Jorginho, but Fred appears to be the one who is set to secure the big-money switch to the Theatre of Dreams.

Surprisingly, the 25-year-old superstar ended up ‘liking’ this comment, indirectly confirming that he is indeed on the verge of officially becoming a Mancunian Red Devil.
United fans will surely be delighted to see their soon-to-be signing’s cheek at dropping hints, and it looks extremely likely that the club’s official mascot, Fred the Red, will soon have a fan-favourite player competing for his name at Old Trafford.
