United Star Expected To Sign A Brand New Contract After World Cup

Marcus Rashford has had a magical stay at Old Trafford. His arrival was unexpected, making a terrific impact first on his debut in the Europa League, and then going on to make brilliant strides to ensure Manchester United won games against rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

Louis van Gaal departing left a lot of doubts pending as to whether or not Jose Mourinho would continue fielding the youngster, given the gaffer’s history with young and developing talent.

But that hasn’t been the case, as the Englishman has been a part and parcel of Mourinho’s style, and even though a regular starting spot hasn’t been carved by him, the number of appearances the starlet has garnered show positivity for the future.

Now an update may exist regarding the same. As per The Sun, Manchester United will sit down with the 20-year-old and seek to extend and improve his contract after he returns from the World Cup in Russia, where he is currently a part of England’s squad.

The report states an Old Trafford source to have said: “The club want to sit down after the World Cup, even if his camp wants to see what Jose does in the market. The club wants to hike his money up once some of the higher earners are out of the door in the next few weeks.”

The source further claimed that Rashford, who currently has two years left on his contract with an option to extend by further 12 months, will see his £80,000-a-week wage package rise to around £130,000-a-week.

“Rash wants to be put at ease and the club wants to show him how highly they value him and that he has a long future here,” the source added.

A part of United’s youth academy since 7, Rashford is expected to attract strong interest from other places given what he has already achieved at the Mancunian outfit. Will a reign akin to Scholes and Giggs await him too?
