Agent Confirms United Star Wishes To Leave The Club
Anthony Martial’s agent has confirmed that the Frenchman intends to leave Manchester United this summer.
In spite of having started the 2017-18 season on a bright note, the 22-year-old lost his form and fell down the pecking order in January, when the Red Devils brought in Alexis Sanchez in the winter transfer window.
Martial has since found regular game-time hard to come by, and a guaranteed starting spot looks far from accessible for the youngster in the seasons to come as well.
Despite not being a fixed name on the team sheet, however, the former Monaco starlet continues to be in Jose Mourinho’s plans, which is precisely why the club has been negotiating with Martial’s representatives over a contract extension.
But these prolonged discussions haven’t led to any positive results, and now, the forward’s agent and the director of USFA management, Philippe Lamboley, has confirmed that Martial indeed wishes to part ways with the Old Trafford outfit.

“After thinking about all the possibilities and scenarios, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,” Lamboley told RMC Sport. “There are many scenarios. For now, it’s premature to talk about it. Anthony will speak later to explain all of this.
“Manchester United want to extend Anthony’s contract and do not want him to leave, but we have not been able to find an agreement for several months.
“I think that when Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world, it must be remembered, do not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is because they do not really want to make him an important member of the team. That’s the root of this decision. It is a well-considered decision.”

But Lamboley did add that while the France international wishes to seek new pastures elsewhere, the decision to let him join a new team this summer lies with the Manchester United management alone.
“It is quite obvious and it is very important to remember that he is under contract, that Manchester United will have the last word and that we will respect the decision of the club, and he will fulfil his commitment to them,” Lamboley added.
“However, we do not share the same vision for Anthony’s future. Today, Anthony is disappointed because he has shown for three seasons the love he has for the club and its supporters.”
It is quite obvious that a player of Martial’s calibre will attract a long list of suitors from all across the continent. With a bidding war looking imminent, where do you think the youngster will play his football next season?
