Swap deals are convenient only in regard to speculation and seldom do the player for player plus cash or straight swaps seem to come to fruition as reported.

Last winter’s saga of Mkhitaryan and Sanchez seems to have certainly spoiled the general appetite for such deals, and now they are expected to be the norm.

However, one cannot deny how easy they seem to be on paper either, and it seems that when it comes to big players hinting at departures, an adequate talent on the other end may be ready for the switch.

According to The Sun, Manchester United may be considering accepting an offer for Paul Pogba from PSG, which is a cash-plus-player deal with Marco Verratti coming to Old Trafford.

The Italian midfielder was earlier reported to have had a fallout with new manager Thomas Tuchel, with the gaffer allegedly asking him to lose weight in order to qualify for starting-spot fitness.

However, Pogba has been playing phenomenally well for France in the World Cup at Russia, and his recent antics have led many United supporters to reconsider their position from last season, where his below-par performances had led to speculation over an assured departure.

To sell Pogba now would not be a move that United will favor, and it is this stance that the board has held for quite a while.

However, Jose Mourinho losing patience with his big stars not performing as expected is also bound to have quite an impact. A reinforced team through summer arrivals could certainly aid the Frenchman to wreak havoc up front.

All in all, while Verratti is undoubtedly one of Europe’s most promising young talents and yet to taste his peak, the potential of Pogba too, seems far from fulfilled at the moment, and the Red Devils may not falter in this case.
