Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has upset the fans after passing comments on Jesse Lingard and Jose Mourinho.

The legendary player, who is working as a pundit in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2018, praised Lingard for his presence of mind for England. The United attacking midfielder scored a superb goal against Panama recently, as England won the game 6-1.

Lingard, who curled a stunning strike into top corner, impressed Scholes. The former England player said to BBC 5 live sport that he knows Lingard well, and that he is a late developer.

Scholes then went on to add that England manager Gareth Southgate has more belief in Lingard as compared to United boss Jose Mourinho.

Scholes stated: “His form for England has been fantastic. I think, possibly, the manager for England has a little bit more belief in him than his club manager (Mourinho). When things aren’t going well at Manchester United he’s the first man taken off, but with England I think Gareth really believes in him and gives him confidence.”

This statement, in turn, has got many Red Devils’ supporters angry, and several were seen slamming Scholes in the comments section on social media site Twitter.

The relation between Mourinho and Scholes is on a rocky note as well, after both individuals slammed each other during the 2017-18 season.

Well, for now, England fans will hope Lingard keeps on performing for the Three Lions in the World Cup,
