“I Would Get Two More Players,” Mourinho Reveals Transfer Plan

Manchester United have been faced with disappointment and frustration throughout the summer transfer window, despite being able to sign three players already.
Lee Grant has been brought into the club as a virtual third choice goalkeeper, Diogo Dalot is one for the future at 19 years of age, and midfielder Fred has entered the fray with very little taste of top level European football.
While the newbies are all very talented in their own right, Jose Mourinho has been unable to acquire any real star name that would not only bring more attention to the club, but more importantly aid their title challenge in the coming season.
However, in a recent interview with ESPN FC, Mourinho did admit that he needs at least “two more players” to join the senior team at Old Trafford, but conceded that he might not be able to get them.

“One thing is what I would like. Another thing is what is going to happen,” the Portuguese tactician stated. But when specifically asked about the number of new signings he would like, the gaffer replied: “I would get two more players.”

While these comments hint at the sheer unpredictable nature of the transfer market, the also signal the hesitancy of several top footballers to come to Manchester United, a place that was once revered as the best from a pure footballing point of view.
It is no secret that the Red Devils have struggled since legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but it is sad that despite a big-name manager like Jose Mourinho taking over, the perception hasn’t exactly changed in the minds of various players.

Nevertheless, money would certainly be a major tool in facilitating such transactions, even if pure passion to play for Manchester United isn’t really forthcoming.
But the club appears to be stalling in that category too, making this a bitter pill to swallow for the United faithful.
Meanwhile, time is running out for Mourinho to sign new players, and most people associated with the club are becoming increasingly frustrated.
