Star Player Charged With Drunk Driving Prior To Clash Between United & Spurs
Manchester United face a massive challenge in their next Premier League outing, as Tottenham Hotspur will certainly be daunting opponents.
This fixture will be dampened by their 3-2 loss to Brighton last week, a feat that has reduced the Red Devils’ hope of achieving their goals this season.
Spurs, for their part, gained victories in both of their opening games, winning 2-1 to Newcastle and 3-1 against Fulham.
As of such, they’ll be hoping for three points against United as well, in a bid to better their table standing, with places one through six tied on points and separated by goal difference.

Now, with the fixture just under three days away, a setback may have occurred already. Multiple reports have confirmed claims that Tottenham’s goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was caught drink-driving, having failed a breathalyzer test on Friday morning.
A police statement on the incident states: “A man has been charged following a routine patrol stop in Gloucester Place, W1. Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley, was charged with drink driving on Friday, 24 August. He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 September.”

Incidents like drink-driving are taken quite seriously by Premier League clubs, with fiascos like the one Wayne Rooney has had stealing the limelight on numerous occasions.
The report further adds that the Frenchman, who led his nation to World Cup triumph earlier in the summer, was kept in custody for around seven hours before being released on bail.
It remains to be seen whether any inter-disciplinary action will be taken on Lloris, particularly in view of the big fixture around the corner. While he is yet to keep a clean sheet so far this season, his role in the side’s success is unquestionable.
