Old Trafford is set to host a tense audience when Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

The Red Devils suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton last week, and will be eager to snap back into winning form again, despite major concerns being raised.

Spurs, for their part, will be the first major challenge for Jose Mourinho’s men, and will be traveling on the back of a sound 3-1 victory against Fulham.

Here’s how both managers are likely to line their teams up:

While Jose Mourinho’s injury line did see a major reduction from last week, the name of Luke Shaw is the fresh addition to the team, as the young Englishman suffered a foot injury during training.

Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia, and Alexis Sanchez all make a return, however, and are likely to start against Spurs. This leaves Shaw with the likes of Herrera, Dalot, and Romero, who are all still in recovery.

A team change is bound to occur, and it seems unlikely that Pereira will hold on to his starting spot in the face of a recovered Matic. Mata is another player who will make way for Lingard, as an attacking-style looks to be the need of the hour.

The defensive errors from last week give some doubt to Lindelof and Bailly starting again, but Mourinho has proven to be forgiving in the past.

Defenders: Valencia, Bailly, Lindelof, Young

Spurs have the advantage of having no injuries to worry about as well as bragging of a team that, despite their lack of transfer activity, has proven to be quite balanced.

Harry Kane found the net last week and looks hungry for more, while Alderweireld seems ready for action after a summer-long transfer dilemma.

Interestingly, their sole doubt may come in the form of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who faced charges of drunk-driving on Friday. At the time of writing this piece, no action was taken by the club on the Frenchman, but that can’t be entirely ruled out.

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris/Vorm
Defenders: Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Sanchez
Midfielders: Trippier, Dier, Eriksen, Davies
Forwards: Moura, Alli; Kane

Formation: 3-4-2-1
