Harry Maguire Reveals Why He Did Not Move To Manchester United
Manchester United faced a humiliating defeat at the hands of Brighton last weekend, which highlighted their defensive weakness.
Jose Mourinho was frustrated when Ed Woodward failed to spend the big bucks for the players the manager wanted this summer. Harry Maguire was one such target on the Portuguese’s wish-list after an impressive display at the World Cup.
The Red Devils did approach Leicester City, but they rejected all interest throughout the summer. And the decision has been paying dividends already, as Maguire’s goal in injury time was enough to win them three points against Southampton this weekend.
After the Foxes’ victory, the English International revealed details about the Manchester United links. Here is what Harry Maguire had to say on Match of the Day:

“There was obviously a little bit of interest. The owners spoke with me and reiterated I wasn’t for sale at any price. I respected their decision because they gave me the chance to come to Leicester and play for such a great club. I just want to get my head down and get on playing the season for Leicester.”
There were reports that Manchester United were close to landing the player, but Maguire’s recent interview proves that the Reds would never have been allowed to secure his services.

Meanwhile, the defender’s impressive start to the Premier League has already begun sparking rumors over a possible move in January.
However, his teammate Ben Chilwell believes that the England international will surely spend the entire campaign at the King Power Stadium.
“He is a Leicester player, he wants to play for Leicester. He has made that clear to all of us. He is going to be here for the whole season,” said the 21-year-old.
