Manchester United fans haven’t had too much to cheer for in recent times. From a lackluster summer transfer window that was marred in controversy to the worst start to a Premier League season since 1992, problems are aplenty for the once unstoppable Red Devils.

The English giants may have clearly lost that mojo which made them so successful, but the fabric of the club is still very much intact.

Despite rampant speculation, the board members have confirmed their backing of manager Jose Mourinho, and are intent on keeping local players such as Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard at Old Trafford to maintain the sanctity of the historic club.

The summer window may have only seen three signings in total, but only one has been given an opportunity to shine so far. Fred has played in all three matches for United this season, which is in stark contrast to another signing, Diogo Dalot.

The 19-year-old sustained an injury that kept him out of the first month of the campaign, but he made his debut for the Manchester United U-23s recently, and definitely impressed many with his display.

With Mourinho watching on, Dalot showed glimpses of what the Portuguese boss saw in him, leading to some exciting prospects for the rest of the season.

This Twitter post is the Dalot highlights package from the game against Stoke City at Old Trafford, where the full-back can be seen pulling off a stepover while also playing tempting through balls and crosses.

His form will be key for the Mancunian side, especially since the defensive department is heavily lacking at the moment and is in dire need of something extra.

While Dalot isn’t obviously the first choice right-back at United, it is imperative that he keeps fit in case senior statesman Antonio Valencia picks up a knock or needs a rest.
