Be it the international break or the build up to a match, the follow-up for a win or a disappointing loss, one man cannot escape the news at the moment, and he is Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder has been leading all football gossip in the past few weeks, and his latest statements have not helped his case get any better.

The French international recently claimed that his immediate future is at Old Trafford, but nobody can be sure about what will follow.

The biggest reason for Pogba’s unhappiness at the club and his willingness to leave has been considered to be Jose Mourinho, but sources now suggest otherwise.

The boss and the player seem to have gotten their worries behind them, and have settled last seasons’s tension already. As per the Daily Record, the major reason for Pogba this time around is now being pointed towards his ego, and that getting the better of him.

The player has been called one of the best since the age of 14, and him becoming United’s most expensive signing ever only made things more complicated.

Paul has been labelled a champion throughout his career, and winning the World Cup has only made that claim more concrete. His agent, Mino Raiola, also never misses an opportunity to remind the world how good his star client is.

It is no surprise that Pogba considers himself to be an elite member of United’s squad, and the fact that his salary ranges at £292k-per-week is suggested to be what upsets him the most.

The central midfielder might be among the top 5 earners in the Premier League, but Alexis Sanchez’s £405k-a-week salary seems to be the problem here.

Raiola has tried his best to take the former Juventus man to a bigger club or negotiate a deal at United, and with both not happening, the tension continues to rise.
