If there is a player that the Manchester United faithful would love to have back at their club, the most obvious one would be Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Juventus striker left Manchester for Madrid 10 years ago, and his gap has still not been filled. The player was an exceptional buy from Sir Alex Ferguson, and he proved to be one of the best players to ever wear the famous Red shirt.

The no. 7 of the club was so good at the time that he even went on to win the Ballon d’Or during his stint in England.

However, some United teammates never missed an opportunity to take a dig at the talisman, and had a friendly banter on the issue of who was the best out there.

Peter Crouch recently revealed to the Daily Mail on how some Manchester United players at that time would tease Cristiano by claiming that Messi was a better player compared to him, and the winger’s reply was one that belonged to a brilliantly cheeky category.

Crouch revealed: “Rio Ferdinand would tell us stories about how Cristiano Ronaldo would stand in front of the mirror naked, running his hand through his hair, and say, ‘Wow. I’m so beautiful!”’

To this, the United players would reply saying: “Whatever. Leo Messi is a better player than you.”

Instead of taking it to his heart or giving it a serious consideration, however, Ronaldo would just give his shoulders a shrug and say: “Ah, yes. But Messi does not look like this…”

10 years, 5 Champions League titles, 1 Euro and 5 Ballon d’Or trophies later, one could say that the best player debate is more or less settled. But who do you think wins the title of the best looking one?
