Manchester United faithful feared the worst as Luke Shaw was brought off the field on a stretcher last night.

The English International made his long-awaited return to the national side in the Nations League opener against Spain.

The left-back provided a wonderful assist to Marcus Rashford, giving the Three Lions a lead in the 11th minute. But the Spaniards replied quickly through Saul, and Rodrigo’s goal meant they led 2-1 at half-time.

In the 47th minute, a clash of heads with Carvajal saw Luke Shaw fall to the ground awkwardly. The United defender received a lengthy treatment, before being brought off for Rose, and the English FA revealed his status this morning.

But the Manchester United fans were left shocked by one of the Spanish players who retweeted the image with a message. Sergio Ramos, who was booed by the Wembley crowd in protest for his tackle on Salah in the Champions League Final, was the one who took to Twitter to send a message to Luke Shaw.

Manchester United fans surely liked the gesture from the Spanish captain. Here are some of the Tweets that followed:

The Wembley crowd was really unforgiving towards the Real Madrid man last night, as they booed Ramos every time he was on the ball.

The defender has refused to take responsibility for Salah’s dislocated shoulder, which cost Liverpool heavily last term, as they went on to lose one of the most important games in their recent history.

But for the Manchester United fans, Ramos is a good guy now, as he cared enough to take some time out and wish a speedy recovery to their best player of the season so far.
