Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Takes A Huge Decision Regarding His Future

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is on the verge of signing a new contract with Lazio, with an announcement said to be likely in a matter of days.
Michael Carrick hung up his boots after spending 12 glorious years at Old Trafford, and manager Jose Mourinho began the hunt for a player who could fill in the former’s experienced boots in the Manchester United midfield.
The Portuguese gaffer managed to bring in Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, but his eyes were also reported to be set on another player.
Milinkovic-Savic seemed to be the likely candidate to replace Carrick, as the Serbian International was linked with the Mancunians throughout the summer.
A good performance at the World Cup attracted interest from Tottenham and Juventus as well, but Lazio weren’t ready to part ways with the 23-year-old, and slapped a €100m (£89m) price tag on him.
The Serie A club commanded a strong position, as Sergej had 4 years left on his current contract. And now, according to Sky Sports Italia, the club is looking to ward off all interest in the upcoming transfer window as well.
Lazio director, Igli Tare, revealed that the Serb is set to extend his stay with the Italian outfit, and a new contract could be signed in the coming week.
“It’s just a matter of days now,” Tare told Sky Sports Italia. “All will be signed at the start of next week. The agreements have been in place for some time now.”
A double bonus could be on the way for Lazio fans, as Ciro Immobile is close to agreeing to a new contract as well. The Italian striker recently scored his 69th goal for the club as they opened their Europa League campaign with a victory over Apollon Limassol.
