What Man United Fans Are Saying About Pogba After Newcastle Match

Going 2-0 down to Newcastle United at Old Trafford in a must-win game must have had Jose Mourinho fearing the worst.

However, smart substitutions, a gripping half-time team-talk, and rarely seen before attacking display allowed his side to pull off a sensational comeback and come out 3-2 winners.

Goals from Juan Mata, Anthony Martial, and Alexis Sanchez got Manchester United the much-needed three points, and sent the Old Trafford faithful into a state of ecstatic frenzy.

While many United players brought out their best in the second half of the game, people reacted specifically to Paul Pogba and his 90 minutes.

Mourinho’s early changes saw the French midfielder slide into a deeper position in midfield, and despite it being considered a risk, it worked wonders. The player provided a beautiful assist for Martial’s equalizer, and was influential in the final goal too.

Fans took to Twitter to talk about Pogba’s masterclass, and most of them only had good things to say about the France international.

One supporter stated: “Pogba is playing both as a centre back, a defensive midfielder and is also trying make things happen going forward. Props to him.”

Another one added: “There’s a bittersweet irony in Pogba being the only one trying while Matic and Young have dropped absolutely disgraceful performances.”

The 2018 World Cup winner then went on to win more hearts, as he walked to the stands and gave a young boy his match shirt. He also was the only one left on the pitch celebrating with the fans and applauding the support he received.

A class act today, and the supporters will be hoping for more of the same from their main man in midfield.
