Swiss Defender Dreams Of Joining Manchester United

Manuel Akanji is flattered by reports linking him to Manchester United, as he dreams of joining them in the future.
The Red Devils’ defensive woes have been picked on by Premier League sides this season, as they have already conceded 14 goals, keeping only 1 clean sheet in the process.
Jose Mourinho was correct in looking for a central defender during the summer, but Ed Woodward was unable to sign any of the defensive targets due to their high valuations.
United officials have agreed to back the gaffer in January, however, and are willing to provide him with the cash to spend. As per reports, Manuel Akanji has caught the eyes of Mourinho, and a move could be on the cards once the winter transfer window opens.

The Swiss International has been in good form for Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United were said to be closing on the defender last January, but the Black and Yellows managed to swoop in and bring him to Germany.
In a recent interview with Bluewin, Akanji revealed that he is a huge fan of the Red Devils, and has been following them since childhood. The 23-year-old is happy with Dortmund at the moment, but believes that a big-money move could be on the cards in the future.
“Many know that Manchester United has been my favourite club since childhood. It would be nice to play there, but that’s not an issue right now. I am very satisfied in Dortmund,” Akanji stated.

“I want to win titles with BVB and compete in many more big tournaments with the Swiss national team. I always want to go higher, as far as possible, But planning the future is difficult. You never know what will happen.”
Akanji could be the solution to Mourinho’s problems in central defence, but Manchester United will have to pay some big bucks to prise him away from Dortmund, due to his 4-and-a-half year contract.
With Ed Woodward not willing to go extravagant, the United gaffer will have to turn his attention to other targets, as he looks to turn around his team’s season and save his job.
