Manchester United may be having a tough time on the pitch since the start of the ongoing season, but off the field, the club is keen to settle things.

After getting Marouane Fellaini and Luke Shaw to sign new deals, it has been reported that United have now taken positive steps towards securing the futures of Anthony Martial and Ander Herrera.

Jose Mourinho wants the pair to get new deals and commit their futures to the club. Work regarding the same is currently ongoing, and positive news could arrive in the coming weeks.

It isn’t just these two players, however, as even the likes of David De Gea and Juan Mata are expected to be handed new contracts as the season progresses.

Earlier during the transfer window, there was speculation that Martial was keen to seek a move away from the club, as his agent had voiced the same. But United are in no mood to listen to such rumours, with the recent run of games having turned Martial’s thoughts as well.

French outlet RMC recently reported that Martial is keen to stay put in Manchester, with a report in ESPN further adding that United are ‘increasingly confident’ that the 22-year-old will put pen to paper on a new five-year contract.

Martial’s weekly wages are also set to improve drastically, up to somewhere in the region of what Luke Shaw is earning at the moment.

Ander Herrera, on the other hand, sees his ongoing deal expire at end of this season, which creates the risk of him departing from the club as a free agent. But United intend to avoid that at all costs, for which they seem to be preparing a new deal for the Spaniard as well.
