Amid such speculation, the transfer rumours surrounding De Gea have been a headache for the fans to think about, and Mourinho’s latest comments might not make things any better.
The boss said that he was ‘not confident’ on whether his shot-stopper would remain a Red Devil after the season. While speaking to Sky Sports, he added: “If the club want to be better than it is and not worse, obviously it would be very important to keep David.”
