What Mourinho Had To Say About Pogba’s Penalty Miss Against Everton
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has praised midfielder Paul Pogba for having the courage to take spot-kicks, despite the player having missed his penalty against Everton on Sunday.
Pogba was lucky enough to have scored from the rebound of his shot, as that saw him give United a 1-0 cushion. He also assisted Anthony Martial for the second goal to stake up his show.
The star midfielder was also culpable for allowing Everton a road back after losing possession in the second half, but United managed to hold on to a 2-1 win.
In his post-match conference, Mourinho stated: “I think the referee was very good in all the game. He was solid and consistent. In the two penalty actions he was consistent.”

The Portuguese then spoke about Pogba and his spot-kick antics, as he added: “Pogba is a better penalty taker than myself. He has the courage to take it. Luka Milivojevic missed one and he took them today. I admire players who have the courage to take them.”
Jose also added that he doesn’t want Pogba to change his mental approach regarding spot-kicks.

“He wants to take them. Maybe he has to change his approach but I don’t want him to change his mental approach. The keeper is also a good penalty saver, so let’s give credit to him. He showed that in the World Cup,” said the United gaffer.
