The Premier League has undergone a lot of changes over the past decades. Manchester United‘s dominance came to an end after Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, and an influx of Arab money has seen their rivals, Manchester City, dominate English Football.

“Who is the best player in the Premier League?” – is a question on everyone’s mind for the past couple of months. In September, commentator Paul Merson claimed that Eden Hazard is miles ahead of his competition at the moment.

“I think Hazard is the best player in the Premier League by a long way,” Merson had told Sky Sports“I don’t think anyone can do what he does and that’s what makes him better than everyone else in my opinion.”

Gary Neville recently decided to join the debate on Twitter, and the first name that came to his mind was Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard as well. It seems that there a general consensus that the Belgian has outclassed everyone this season.

It was surprising to see that Gary Neville left out Mo Salah. The Egyptian forward has been amazing for Liverpool since his arrival from Roma in 2017.

It took him 65 appearances to cross the 50-goal mark for the Reds, which is a remarkable achievement. However, it wasn’t enough to impress the Manchester United veteran.

Yes, Salah has been finding it difficult in front of goal this season, but De Bruyne, who is yet to make his first full appearance this campaign, still managed to make the cut.

Neville never misses an opportunity to take a jibe at Liverpool. Salah’s exclusion was followed by his support for Sergio Ramos to win this year’s Ballon d’Or, which might not go well with the Scousers.
