How Man United Fans Reacted To Alexis Sanchez’s Performance Against Bournemouth

Manchester United fans were left pleasantly surprised with Alexis Sanchez’s performance against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Red Devils’ boss Jose Mourinho was all set to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the starting lineup for their encounter with the Cherries. However, a late injury in training ruled the Belgian out for the game, forcing the gaffer to make changes to his team.

Mourinho decided on bringing in Alexis Sanchez, albeit in an unusual manner, as the Chilean was fielded in a false 9 role at the Vitality Stadium.

The ex-Arsenal star has been a shadow of his former self since his arrival at Old Trafford, with his performances being consistently below par.

However, Sanchez ended up surprising one and all with his display against Bournemouth, which earned him plaudits from the Manchester United faithful.

Not only did he bag the assist for Anthony Martial’s equalizing goal in the first half, but his clever movement and reliable hold-up play also helped his fellow teammates on the offense.

Fans were quick to make note of this drastic improvement in the 29-year-old, with some wanting Alexis to retain his spot in the upcoming games by replacing Lukaku on the team sheet.
