How Klopp Reacted To Fabinho’s Mistake Against Arsenal

An exciting top-four clash between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates ended in a dramatic 1-1 draw.

The game was predictably electric, and the result has ensured that Liverpool still remain unbeaten and atop the Premier League table, with the Reds enjoying a stunning goal from James Milner that was raptly equalized by the efforts of Alexandre Lacazette.

While Liverpool did suffer the controversy of a Mane goal being disallowed due to offside, they also made several errors of their own. One player, in particular, seemed to face the brunt of the criticism for his flaws, and Jurgen Klopp was having none of it.

Fabinho didn’t exactly have an eventful outing in London. In fact, few seconds into the 25-minute mark, the Brazilian committed the grave error of kicking the ball out of play rather than crossing it into what was building up to be a promising run.

His teammates weren’t too happy about how the 25-year-old spoilt the play, but it was Klopp in particular who was furious. Cameras panning to the Liverpool gaffer moments after Fabinho committed his mistake found him highly animated, shouting and waving his hands in obvious displeasure.

At £43 million, the midfielder arrived with much promise pinned onto him, with pundits and fans alike claiming that he’d bring an unprecedented depth to the Merseyside club’s style of play.

However, the clash against the Gunners showed no evidence of that, with fans often taking to Twitter to point out the woes of the former Monaco star, often for him being poor in controlling the ball, needlessly tackling, and failing at winning his challenges.

All in all, he needs to step up his game to continue competing in the manner in which Liverpool require to attain their goals. For now, he’ll be relieved that Klopp remained in his technical area during the clash.
