European Giants Interested In Signing Eric Bailly In January

AC Milan are targeting a January move for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, report ESPN.

The Ivory Coast international is believed to be largely unsettled at the Theatre of Dreams, as he believes manager Jose Mourinho has lost faith in him completely.

Bailly produced a shambolic display in the Red Devils’ 3-2 defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion back in August, for which he was heavily criticised by fans and pundits alike.

Since that Premier League encounter, Bailly featured for just 2 minutes in 5 league games until last month’s Newcastle fixture, which he started, but was subbed off after merely 19 minutes.

The centre-back’s current contract with the Mancunian outfit expires at the end of next season, but talks over a new deal are yet to begin, thereby making his future at the club extremely uncertain.

Now, Italian giants AC Milan look set to take full advantage of this situation, by making a move for Bailly as soon as the winter transfer window reopens.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs as well, but United would very much prefer to sell their player to a foreign club, thereby giving the Serie A outfit a small boost in their pursuit.

Manchester United signed Bailly for a fee of £30 million back in June 2016, and they shall expect to recoup as much of that amount as possible, given the defender’s abundant talent and young age.
