Why Ronaldo Was Upset After Man United’s Win Against Juventus
Arsene Wenger has explained why Cristiano Ronaldo was ‘gutted’ after Juventus’ shock defeat to Manchester United.
The Red Devils managed to surprise one and all with the result in Turin, as despite going a goal down after an incredible Cristiano Ronaldo strike, they mounted an unlikely comeback in the final minutes of the game to win the encounter 2-1.
Ronaldo was evidently upset after the defeat, and he went on to criticise his former team’s approach as well as their overall gameplay in his post-match interview.
Now, former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has spoken about Ronaldo being more gutted than anyone after the game, claiming that it wasn’t just the defeat that upset the 33-year-old forward.

Speaking to Bein Sports, Wenger first heaped praise on Ronaldo’s goal, stating: “It is such a fantastic goal, it surprises us all, we have seen so many games but we’re still surprised because he does the unexpected.
“He has a short backlift, it doesn’t take him time to hit the ball and even the keeper didn’t move, De Gea has fantastic reactions but even he didn’t lift a hand.”

The Frenchman then added: “He [Ronaldo] will go home tonight, believe me, absolutely gutted because a goal like that will not be highlighted because they lost the game. This goal, with a 1-0 victory, would have been all over the world tomorrow.”
