Man United Star Ready To Accept Less Wage To Make Sure He Stays At The Club
Ashley Young is ready to take a pay cut to extend his stay at Manchester United.
The Englishman was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson from Aston Villa back in 2011, for a fee in the region of £17 million.
The player was recruited as an attacking winger, but under current boss Jose Mourinho, he has established himself as a first-choice full-back that operates on both the flanks.
During the previous campaign, Young was mainly utilised as the go-to left-back. But following the reemergence of Luke Shaw this season, the versatile veteran has usurped Antonio Valencia to make the right-back spot his own this term.

Young’s current contract is all set to expire at the end of the season, but he has been involved in talks with the Mancunian outfit over a possible extension.
And now, The Sun has provided a new update regarding the details of offer tabled by Manchester United.

The report states that while Young’s existing deal earns him around £130,000-a-week, the new contract offered by United will see his salary decrease to “a lower basic of just under six figures”.
However, the deal will still consist of several success- and appearance-based bonuses, thanks to which there shouldn’t be any issues with the player penning the offer down.
