No matter what Jose Mourinho does, people go ahead and criticise him. And that was precisely what some fans pointed out, as they dismissed Gary Lineker’s claims on the Portuguese.

Jose had given Rashford a chance to impress as a striker against Young Boys in the Champions League, and the player threw the opportunity away – something his manager will not be happy about. Also, it showed why he doesn’t trust youngsters with just potential.

Manchester United were eventually made to wait until injury-time to win their home match, but the game should have been buried in either side of half-time.

Rashford, despite being lively and energetic, missed some glorious chances on the night. His first miss within the opening 5 minutes was a huge talking point.

After After Jesse Lingard found him with a pass, Rashford broke through and had the keeper to beat in a one-on-one situation. But the England youngster missed the target, as his decision-making hurt him and his manager.

Jose, who thought his side had bagged an early first goal, was left in a state of shock. His reaction told the whole story: An open arm in frustration, Jose headed back to the dug-out with disbelief and was seen shaking his head.

Lineker, who was on television as a pundit and host for BT Sports, provided his assessment on Jose’s reaction, by stating: “If I saw my manager react like that, I would be absolutely livid.”

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand too, supported his views, and agreed on the same: “That says it all, exactly what you said there.”

This did not go down well with fans on Twitter, as they lashed out at Lineker, stating Mourinho had every right to react the way he did.
