Manchester United Take Huge Paul Pogba Transfer Decision Ahead Of January Window

Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United has dominated much of the non-transfer headlines during the recent months. Now that the winter window inches ever closer, the chance that his apparent unhappiness with the club could have a bigger effect going forward is very likely.

Despite being their biggest transfer and arguably being granted the stature of an ‘unsellable’ player, Jose Mourinho has taken the bold step of benching the Frenchman during his side’s previous two outings.

This has largely been interpreted as retribution for the frankly pathetic showings that Pogba had on show against Southampton, although some hopeful fans have also suggested that the Portuguese tactician is merely resting the midfield maestro, given how hectic this festive period is going to get.

Regardless of what the reason is, something big might await this saga soon.

As per ESPN, the higher-ups at Old Trafford will not sell Paul Pogba, despite obvious interests from European powerhouses, particularly Juventus and Barcelona.

This is in line with what the Mancunian side has been holding from the past months, with the player’s brand appeal thought to be too strong to give up. What has instead been fueling the rumors of an exit are reports that Pogba himself is increasingly unhappy with Mourinho, and will force an exit soon.

This is despite past press conferences, wherein both player and manager have ascertained that their rapport is just fine. Mourinho even insisted recently that Pogba will play a part when the club faces Valencia in the Champions League later this week.

At his best, Pogba is a vital cog around which the United team revolves and functions. However, during some of his more poor showings, the former Juventus star hasn’t exactly seemed to be too responsible for his antics, and that has led many a fan to wonder if he truly is the man to back.
