Man Utd Squad ‘Astonished’ With How Mourinho Is Treating 25-Year-Old Star

Manchester United players are reportedly confused about Jose Mourinho’s treatment of Fred.
Despite being brought in as a marquee summer signing and being labeled a crucial addition to the squad, Fred has only managed to make 10 appearance this campaign.
His latest outing was against Young Boys in the Champions League, wherein his performance was praised heavily by fans and pundits alike. However, he has failed to make an appearance since the fixture.
The Brazilian international was left on the bench during the Red Devils’ draw with Southampton, and was omitted from the match-day squad entirely for the game against Arsenal.

Now, Brazilian outlet UOL has claimed that such treatment of the 25-year-old from Jose Mourinho has left the entire Manchester United first-team squad “feeling astonished”.
The article states that ‘even the athletes with more authority in the squad and with more time at the club’ are confused as to why the Shakhtar Donetsk man hasn’t been receiving adequate game-time.

Further, the same report goes on to add that while convincing the midfielder to make the switch to Old Trafford, Mourinho had promised Fred that he would be a crucial cog of the Portuguese’s dream midfield, alongside Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba. However, that has hardly been the case.
Mourinho did recently claim that he intends on using Fred more effectively once Manchester United strengthen their weakened backline, but it remains to be seen if the gaffer stands true of this promise.
