Mourinho Names Three Players Who Will Definitely Start Against Liverpool

Manchester United didn’t have the most impressive of European showings when they lost 2-1 to Valencia.
A remarkable goal from Carlos Soler and a comical own-goal from Phil Jones set the stage for the Red Devils to lose. Marcus Rashford’s late header did inject some hope into the game, although it may have been too little too late.
Indeed, the starting XI did little to impact the match, with much of the keen work being done by the substitutes – Rashford’s goal having the crucial involvement of Young.
It appears that this is no coincidence, and that the duo will be rewarded for its efforts soon.

Speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho provided some uncharacteristically early team news for this weekend’s big clash against Liverpool at Anfield, confirming that Marcus Rashford, Ashley Young, and Jesse Lingard will all start.
Mourinho has seen better rosters to choose from, with his current lot afflicted by injuries and miserable form. He will be grateful to have not added to that list during the dismal Champions League outing.
Rashford starting is a no-brainer, given his cracking performance against Fulham as well as the side’s sole goal on Wednesday.

As for Young, it is clear that their full-back woes are still strong, and it will be interesting to see if Shaw is able to recover in time, or whether Diogo Dalot will get one more shot at making an impact. The youngster has been impressive in his showings so far, and his crosses and decisive balls into the box could make him a valuable asset.
Lingard starting could be more of a comment on the state of United’s frontline, with Lukaku showcasing yet another game where he didn’t score, nor made an impact.
Liverpool are the only unbeaten side left in the Premier League, and it goes without saying that Jose Mourinho’s lads will fancy their chances at tweaking that accolade.
