Manchester United are prepared to let go of Eric Bailly, so as to fund a move for another centre-back.

The Ivory Coast international has made just nine appearances for the Premier League outfit so far. He had failed to receive any game-time whatsoever post October 6, until his recent appearance against Arsenal.

Now, the Gunners seem to have expressed their interest in the 24-year-old, as they look to strengthen their defence once the January transfer window reopens.

Moreover, Unai Emery is also said to be a fan of the player, having been impressed by the defender’s performances during their time together in La Liga.

Further, according to the The Telegraph, Jose Mourinho is also prepared to let go of his 2016 summer signing, in order to fund a move for a more experienced centre-back.

Manchester United have been targeting Napoli superstar Kalidou Koulibaly for a while now, but the Serie A club reportedly values the Senegalese international at €150m, thanks to the new 5-year deal he signed in September.

Spurs’ Toby Alderweireld is yet another candidate on the Mancunians’ radar, but it remains to be seen whether the Old Trafford hierarchy approve a deal for the Belgian this time around, having already rejected him in the summer.

Mourinho looks all set to make changes to his backline, but it remains to be seen which player has moved where at the end of January.
