Rooney Names His Pick For The Permanent Managerial Job At Man United

On Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took the first successful step towards replacing Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, as evident from his team’s performance in the 5-1 win over Cardiff City.
However, the Norwegian is, by no means, a viable candidate to take over the job permanently just yet, and the club hierarchy continues its search for a long-term successor.
Several world-class tacticians have already been linked to the hot seat, including the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane, Antonio Conte, and Leonardo Jardim, to name a few.
But the Tottenham Hotspur manager currently seems to be the clear frontrunner, having received the backing of fans and pundits alike, along with that of club legend, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Post Manchester United‘s win over Cardiff, Wayne Rooney, who was a part of BT Sport’s pundit team, was also asked who his choice for the job would be. Without hesitation, the Englishman simply replied: “Poch.”
The Red Devils’ record goal-scorer further went on to speak about how the feel-good factor has returned to the Theatre of Dreams since the recent managerial change.

“Of course I stay in touch with a lot of people at the club,” Rooney added. “I’ve spoken to them quite a lot certainly this week and I think to be a successful football club you need everything to be right.
“You need the staff at the training ground to be right, the groundsman whoever that is to feel happy and that rubs off on the players and I think that relationship between some of the staff and the players obviously wasn’t great.
“Bringing Ole in, bringing Mick Phelan in that’s already changed. ‘The staff at the training ground are smiling, they’re happy, and that rubs off on the players. I think it’s a good move for the club while it gives the more time to get the right manager in place in the summer.”
