Marouane Fellaini once again finds himself in the midst of transfer speculation, despite signing a contract extension at Manchester United in end of June earlier this year.

The Belgian midfielder signed a deal until June 2020, with the option of extending for a further year. He had said: “I am pleased to be continuing my journey as a Manchester United player. I made this decision because I am very happy here.”

Fellaini was one of former manager Jose Mourinho’s prime assets of the club. Despite not starting every game, the former Everton player found immense support from the Portuguese.

But United have since gone on to sack Jose after a disappointing start to the 2018-19 campaign, having roped in former club striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim boss.

Now, according to a report in Takvim, Turkish club Fenerbahce has begun talks with the Premier League outfit regarding Fellaini. The Turkish newspaper states that the Norwegian tactician doesn’t see Fellaini in his plans.

Fellaini hasn’t started in Solskjaer’s first two games in charge of the Red Devils against Cardiff and Huddersfield,  both of which were won by the Red Devils spectacularly.

The report adds that post Jose’s departure, the situation has changed. Fellaini could now accept the possibility to depart from Old Trafford, and consider signing for Fenerbahce if the personal terms match his demands.

Fenerbahce could make an official bid for the 31-year-old in the summer of 2019.
