Lukaku Reveals How Solskjaer Is Helping Him Becoming A Better Striker

After having endured a goalless streak during Jose Mourinho’s final few games in charge of Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku has come out all guns blazing under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The star striker has bagged 3 goals in 3 games under the Norwegian, despite having come on as a second-half substitute in the first 2 appearances.

Now, the Belgian international has admitted that Solskjaer has had a genuine influence over his game already, claiming that the legendary Manchester United striker offers him valuable tips in training.

Speaking after the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup, Lukaku told MUTV (via M.E.N.): “In training, you see, he helps us a lot with finishing and how to strike the ball.

“He explains how to move away from the ball and the way he wants us to play really benefits me. It helps me to get in a position where I want to be and he understands what type of striker I am and he works to our strengths.

“He knows I want to play through the middle, facing the goal at all times, he knows I’m really dangerous at that. But, also helping the team off the ball and things like that. He helps me a lot and I try to pay off with goals.”

The 25-year-old also spoke about Manchester United trip to Dubai, where they will be setting up a training camp to improve their fitness and prepare for the upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

“It’s going to be good for us as a team because we are performing really well and it’s going to help us to become tighter,” the forward stated. “We do a lot of stuff together off the pitch and now we will be together and become a tighter unit.”
