Juan Mata Admits He Misses Spain Amid Interest From La Liga Clubs

Juan Mata has admitted that he misses his homeland amid links of a potential return to Spain.
Mata has entered the final six months of his current contract, which allows him to discuss terms with interested parties ahead of a free transfer next summer.
The 30-year-old, who recently received a special award from the Queen of Spain for his charity organization ‘Common Goal’, has attracted heavy interest from La Liga, with several clubs believed to be interested in his services.
Amid these links, the playmaker himself has had his say on his Manchester United future.
“I’ve been in England for a while, but it’s true that at times you miss home, your family, your friends,” the former Chelsea man told AS (via Sky Sports).
“But I don’t know if I’ll return to Spain in the near future. I’m calm, I’m at the fantastic club that is Manchester United, one of the biggest in the world.”
Mata further spoke about the Red Devils’ aspirations for the remainder of the season, as he added: “We are focused on finishing the season as well as possible and reaching our goal of a place in the Champions League.
“We would like to have other objectives but that is the reality. A coach came in who is a club legend and has give us confidence. I am sure there will be difficult times between now and the end of the season but we will give our all.”
