Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has undoubtedly kicked off his 6-month interim spell brilliantly, having won five out of the five games he has coached so far.

His performances have led many to believe that he could be a realistic candidate for the full-time managerial role at Manchester United, although the Norwegian is yet to face stern tests.

A difficult one is almost upon him though, as the Red Devils are set to face Tottenham Hotspur in an exciting Premier League clash this Sunday.

Spurs’ boss Mauricio Pochettino is reported to be the Mancunian giants’ primary target for the Old Trafford hot-seat, with several other world-class managers behind the Argentinian on the club’s wish-list.

However, Solskjaer too could earn a serious consideration from the Manchester United hierarchy, on the basis of what he achieves during his interim spell.

According to The Times, the legendary striker has already won over some top officials at the club, but concrete results and some silverware is what will matter the most in the end.

With Manchester United currently competing in the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League, Solskjaer will have to win one of those two titles as well as finish in the top 4 in the Premier League to have a serious chance of taking over the role full-time.

While European glory may be far-fetched, the Reds do have a genuine chance of winning the FA Cup.

Further, they have also been climbing the league table swiftly, and a win over Spurs will take them level on points with 5th-placed Arsenal, and just 3 behind 4th-placed Chelsea.
