Spurs Wary Of Losing Alderweireld To Their Premier League Rivals
Tottenham appear set to lose Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils have pursued the Spurs centre-back since Jose Mourinho’s days at the helm of Old Trafford.
However, their pursuit of the player eventually met a dead end, as club CEO Ed Woodward refused to meet the London club’s high valuation of their defender.
At the start of the year, Spurs activated a counter-clause in the Belgian international’s contract, which will allow him to leave for a discounted price of £26 million within the final two weeks of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Considering the inflation of the transfer market at present, any club would jump at the chance of signing a defender of Alderweireld’s quality and experience at the aforementioned price, and Manchester United are no different.
According to Mirror, the Mancunians plan to begin their rebuilding phase by signing the Tottenham superstar ahead of next season.

The report adds that apart from United, the likes of Barcelona and Juventus are also interested in signing the 30-year-old.
And with just a year remaining on his current Spurs deal, the London giants will definitely sell their prized asset to the highest bidder come summer.
