Alexis Sanchez is living through the ‘worst moment’ of his footballing career.

The Chilean international’s career with Manchester United since joining the club in January 2018 has been a dreadful affair to say the least.

The player failed to take off at Old Trafford from the get-go, never reaching the high levels that he achieved during his stints with former clubs Barcelona and Arsenal.

Even after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s takeover as the new manager at Old Trafford, many players experienced an improvement in their respective forms, but Alexis simply wasn’t one of them.

Now, with the season approaching its climax, Sanchez’s spell at the Mancunian outfit also seems to be coming to an end, with a summer departure looking imminent.

The 30-year-old seems to be going through a tough time himself, with Chilean outlet La Tercera covering a story on the forward with the headline ‘Sad, despised and doubting everything: Alexis Sanchez lives his worst moment’.

Sources close to Alexis have also told the newspaper that he now “wants nothing”, and that he is looking to “focus on himself”. Further, he will also be a doubt for Chile for the upcoming 2019 Copa America.

Sanchez’s former manager Claudio Borghi confirmed as much regarding Sanchez missing the competition, with someone close to the player adding: “He has doubted about going, that’s what he said.”

What lies ahead for the player who was once deemed one of the best forwards in world football?
