Nicolas Pepe To Manchester United: Summer Exit Confirmed By Lille
While much has been said about Manchester United’s defensive woes, the proverbial need of the hour being a centre-back and capable full-backs, their other shortcomings are often sidelined.
The club is lacking in midfield competence and also lack credible threat in their right-wing and central attacking spots. That is not to say that their left-wing is secure and with much doubt being raised over the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial, that is an entirely different concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company.
The right-forward, however, is an arrival that the club is believed to have prioritized for the summer, with the Norwegian gaffer aiming for a full-frontal attack.
In that regard, positive news awaits the club.

Lille manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that Nicolas Pepe will leave the side in the upcoming transfer window. The 23-year-old forward has been linked heavily with the Red Devils in the past weeks and it could be a matter of time before a deal materializes.
Speaking to Canal+, Galtier stated: “Nicolas Pepe will leave. Life’s like that, football’s like that today. He is a player of the highest level who will have a big decision to make on the choice of his next club. There will be a battle between the great European teams.”
At the moment Arsenal and Chelsea are the other two English clubs interested in signing the forward. While Chelsea’s woes may come in the form of their transfer ban, Arsenal could be intimidated by the French-Ivorian’s £70 million pricetag.
The gaffer adds: “I hope that he will take good amount of time to think about it, do his research, like he did when he came here and when he decided to stay here (last summer), find the right project.”
Having netted 22 goals and assisted 11 more in the Ligue 1 this season, it is easy to see why he is such an attractive prospect.
