Manchester United Are ‘Working Very Hard’ To Sign Matthijs de Ligt
Manchester United have been working really hard to tidy things up this transfer window. The manner in which they ended their campaign has left warning bells ringing all across Old Trafford with the Red Devils failing to perform like a top English club ought to.
While all of the other teams in the top six are either rollicking in silverware, like Manchester City, or presently populate the finals of both the Champions League and the Europa League, United have nothing to their name.
As of such, the traditionally successful English giants are on the edge of a downward spiral if appropriate investments aren’t made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company in the summer.
At the moment, the lack of a leader in the heart of their defense is clearly the issue that United need to solve desperately and they may be making great headway regarding the same.

Ajax seemed to have conceded that they will lose Matthijs de Ligt in the summer amidst massive European interest. It was claimed that Barcelona were on the verge of signing the youngster but a recent update may prove to be the end of that saga.
According to Catalunya Radio and Esport 3 (via @utdreport) Barcelona aren’t happy with the commission that de Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola is demanding for the transfer. The same source also adds that United are more committed on the economic front at signing the Dutchman.
In concordance with the claim, former Norwegian footballer Jan Åge Fjørtoft tweeted that United are working very hard to bring the 19-year-old to Old Trafford.
All of this adds up to quite a redemptive arc for Manchester United. Earlier claims had discounted this saga entirely and alleged that de Ligt had no interest at joining the Red Devils whatsoever, citing that the club had lost its brand value and wouldn’t further his ambition of becoming the best defender in Europe.
