Inter have offered Manchester United the chance to sign Mauro Icardi.

The Red Devils are reportedly considering offloading Romelu Lukaku this summer, and replacing him with a striker that is more suitable to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s style of play.

The Belgian international has attracted heavy interest from the Serie A, with Inter said to be one of the frontrunners in the race to sign the 26-year-old.

Manchester United have set a huge £80 million price tag on Lukaku, which Inter are hesitant to meet, despite having held talks with the English club.

The Italian outfit had even proposed a player-plus-cash deal involving Ivan Perisic, but that offer was turned down straightaway by the Mancunians.

Now, according to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have made yet another player-plus-cash offer, this time including Mauro Icardi as part of the deal.

The Argentinian scored 17 goals in 37 appearances for the San Siro outfit last season, until he was banished from the squad during the tail-end of the campaign after falling out with the club’s hierarchy.

Despite his undeniable talent, however, Manchester United have rejected the chance to sign the controversial forward in exchange for Lukaku.

Meanwhile, Inter are also in talks with Roma regarding a potential swap deal involving Icardi and Edin Dzeko, with new boss Antonio Conte supposedly eager to sign the former Manchester City striker.
