De Ligt Advised To Choose Man Utd Over Barcelona By People Close To Him
Matthijs De Ligt has been advised to join Manchester United.
The Ajax captain is currently the most sought-after defender in the transfer market, with a summer departure from the Eredivisie outfit imminent.
He has been linked with a host of powerhouses from all across the continent, but Barcelona and Manchester United have been leading this race since its inception.
In fact, recent reports coming in from Spain suggest that the Catalan giants have already agreed a deal with Ajax, and it is now down to the teenager to pen down a contract.
However, according to Sport, people close to De Ligt have advised him to join another club, and save the move to Barcelona for the future.

The 19-year-old has supposedly been told: “If you go to United, in three years, Barca will pay whatever it is for you.”
Further, the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, has also told Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu that for now, De Ligt needs to play week in week out to realise his full potential, and the time to join the Spanish giants will come in the future.
Thanks to Manchester United‘s defensive problems, the Dutch international would without doubt be one of the first names on the team sheet at Old Trafford, which is why joining the Red Devils is the more sensible move for the young starlet as of now.
