Manchester United May Be ‘Forced’ To Pay Rashford £350,000-A-Week Contract

Manchester United have been coming under heavy fire as of late for not making as many signings as their fans are expecting them to. The Premier League giants have failed to impress over the past few seasons and their marquee signings have largely turned out to be flops.

While many of their supporters are immensely worried about the state of things, there is also the matter of the pending contracts to fret about.

While the saga of David De Gea remains in great doubt at the club, the fact that many other talents will be entering the final months of contract at the side will also bother them.

Now, the demands of one player, in particular, may peeve the Red Devils greatly.

Marcus Rashford is demanding a massive pay hike as he is negotiating a new contract at Old Trafford. The English forward, who emerged from the side’s youth academy, will enter the final year of his contract the coming season and as of such has a few demands before penning a fresh deal.

The Sun quoted a source close to the player to have stated: “Marcus is United through and through and doesn’t want to leave. But it wouldn’t be a hardship playing for either of the big two in Spain if they can’t agree a deal. Lots of footballers sign deals on the basis of not only what their worth is now but what they will be worth in one, two or three years.”

It is believed that Rashford is demanding a weekly wage package worth upwards of £350,000 as a reflection of his position within the roster. It is believed that his representatives are using heavy interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid as leverage to convince the higher-ups at the club for a deal.

All of this is backlash for United awarding Alexis Sanchez a massive £500,0000-a-week wage package, with David De Gea also a figure wanting our after the club didn’t provide a similar hike to his wages.
